Battle for the Cowl - Post Two

I had an opportunity to speak with the Bat Hound here at eclectorama. We spoke of fighting crime, new Bat gadgets and the Battle for the Cowl. Bat Hound shared some thoughts with me on my competition.

Chunky B -"So, Bat Hound how do you think I will fare in this upcoming competition, the Battle for the Cowl, against Reis?

Bat Hound - "Who? Reis? Never heard of him."

Chunky B - "You know he used to be some big shot blogger, Geek Orthodontist, or something like that. Now he goes around and picks fights or throw downs with people and their toy collections... sort of like a cross between Geoffrey the Giraffe and Bobby Flay.

Bat Hound - "Haa! Ha Ha Ha... Geoffrey the Giraffe... Oh, haa. I wouldn't worry about this Reis character ...Geoffrey the Giraffe, whew.

Chunky B - Thanks, but I really am not too worried about what Reis will throw at me, sounds like he's...

Bat Hound
- "Wait, hold that thought... I hear a cry for help!"

Bat Hound - "I'm off! I have more important things to attend to than this Reis fellow."

Chunky B - "Well, thanks Bat Hound, we'll see you later then? Around dinner?"

Bat Hound - "Yes, Justice needs to eat!"

So, sort of short, but Bat Hound did leave me a few more Batmans for the shelf.

Great post! Bat-Hound is awesome! You disappear for a little while, and now you're back with a vengeance.

A little off topic...pertaining to your sale. If you come across an extra Batman from 89-90(the movie one), I'd be interested. I see a loose one in one of your pics(I'd prefer one with a cloth cape, but it's not a nessecity). I used to have one, don't know where it went. But if you come across an extra, let me know what you want for it. Thanks.

Thanks, that last post was a little behind, the photos were shot last week and the garage sale was this past weekend. I thinned out six or so totes of stuff. Not to worry I still have a ton of toys.

I'm actually loading up the Bat Shelf this week so if I run across any extra 89-90 Batmans I will let you know.

Wait a minute... they made them without a cloth cape?

Awesome post... I feel just a little bit safer knowing Bat-hound is out there protecting us. I wonder who that masked canine really is?

Wow, it looks like you've got quite the stash of loose Batman figures... I wouldn't want to go up against you.

Do they have to be loose to be competition worthy?

Heh heh :D

@ chris - I am going to try my hardest to win this fight, this contest of egos, I am currently re-painting all my duplicates, LOL. Just kidding.

@ Brian A - Yep they have to be loose... and get this Reis wants to use bootlegs, BOOTLEGS! Me, I going for just officially licensed stuff, that's how I am rolling on this one.

Speaking of rolling, I think reis has rolled over I haven't heard a peep out of him in a while.

Dude, you've got Ace on your side! You win hands down! LOL

Bootlegs? Hmmm. I don't know....

Okay, look here, people! I just moved into a new house this weekend and just got my internet service this morning, so you can all act like a bunch of big shots and talk smack about a dude who can't defend himself until he gets into work in the morning all you want, if it makes you all feel better.

And I don't need some talking dog to garner supporters! I'm doing this on my own! Because, like Batman himself, I am a lone figure in the night, fighting the good fight! That, and I couldn't get a Bat-costume on my cat. He's a squirmy little bugger.

And as far as the bootlegs go, they're just as viable as collectibles as the regular licensed stuff, maybe even more so since some of them can be much harder to find! And what this really boils down to is the hunting prowess of each collector, and my scouring of weird marketplaces to find Bat-oddities should be considered legitimate. But if my few little bootlegs threaten you, Chunky B, I'll be happy to take them out.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have go get a hand truck to start loading in all of these large storage bins full of Batman figures.

("Geek Orthodontist"? HAHAHAHA!!! Well played, Chunky B. Well played...)

Whine, whine, whine. You can keep your bootlegs Reis I wouldn't want you to have wasted a trip to the dollar store for nothing.

Also, it's not my fault the Bat Hound likes to hang out with me, but Batman does have Ace, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Alfred, Batwoman, and on and on to help with the good fight. He hasn't been a lone wolf in quite some time, I wouldn't expect the casual fan to know this stuff.

So, go get your hand truck, go shopping for more Batman, hit your friends up for theirs, on the the 29th I am shutting you down.

I have to admit, I've never been a fan of seeing dogs in costumes. And now I know why; because I'd never seen one this awesome before. Fantastic pictures!

Chunky- There was only the cloth cape. I only said I'd prefer the cloth cape, because I know they were lost very easily, and sometimes you have to go with no cape. Hope I didn't get your hopes up. :)

chunky B said...

@ Jason, not hopes, more like panic, I was thinking I missed one, LOL. You can't see it but mine has the cape and his weapons are in a "Weapons Baggie".

I do have one in a package, but I'm no sure I am willing to part with that one just yet, but like I said I may find a duplicate.

Ok Bat-Hound totally wins this round! Also Chunky you don't have a extra Kenner "Super Powers" Batman do you?

chunky B said...

@jboypacman - I wish, I have one, open, he came with a SP Batmobile, pretty good shape, but I always wanted to pick up a packaged version.

Yeah "SP" Bat-Man was always a favorite of mine. Heck i love that whole line of toys. : )
